Visit to Ilcsi Cosmetics

Ilcsi Beautifying Herbs, or as it is known in the United States, Ilike Cosmetics is an organic cosmetics company based in Budapest, Hungary. The company manufactures a wonderful line of skin care products. Last week we visited the laboratory and got a glimpse into what all goes into creating such a successful and outstanding line. 

Our guide was Boldizsar Molnar, grandson of Ilcsi Molnar, founder of the company, and the best knownn cosmetics guru in Hungary. Aunt Ilcsi as she was affectionately known to millions, started developing her cosmetics in the 1950s. Because of the outstanding quality and effectiveness of the products, the company has grown rapidly and is today  featured in fine spas all over Europe, Asia and North America.

The people at Ilcsi hand harvest the organically grown fruits, vegetables and plants that are then fremented with their patented process into essences they infuse their products with. 

Giant jars hold fermenting products on the shelves.

The smaller quantities are in glass jars,

while larger amounts ferment in huge steel vats.

The masks, peelings, moisturizers and other products are mixed with machines developed for the pharmacutical industry. 

These machines were created for mixing medications. 

Precise measuring ensures consistently high quality.

We got to take a peek at what is being created inside.

After the different skin care products are ready, they are bottled and labelled.

The machine above fills the small bottles with black mineral soap.

Here, the jars of black mineral soap await shipment to the United States.
